We got to the Cinque Terre yesterday afternoon in the blazing sunshine. We decided rather than hanging about the best bet would be to get to our accommodation and dump out heavy packs. Small problem, Bugsy forgot to write down where to catch the bus from… Anna was a little unimpressed and due to the serious lack of internet connectivity (how will I cope!) getting the information proved to be a struggle. After hunting around we found 1 place with 1 terminal in occupado.
The sign on the wall said 10 c / minute so I thought they would be fast, half an hour later and a million times where they looked like they were about to leave I managed to get on. Next problem the bus was due to arrive in 15 minutes, and we still didn’t really know what bus to catch, only that it was green. To tell you the truth we needn’t have worried. A big green bus came down trundling down the middle of a previously pedestrianised street and picked us up.
We arrived in the hotel with time to spare, checked in at 3 and made our way down the 200 steps to our room. Inside we found an incredibly friendly grey cat, who joined us for a nap on the bed, arm over Anna. We awoke around 7 and went for dinner, with a fantastic view over the bay, and made grand plans to wake up tomorrow to go walking…

Weren’t you surprised by the many little internet cafe’s there? There was one in every village when I was there three years ago.
The train schedule and overcrowded cars left much to be desired though.
